Welcome Letter
 
It is our great pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 9th ISRPF to be held in Kochi (the other name COCHIN), Kerala from 9th to 14th of August, 2011. The venue of the symposium, Lulu International Convention Center and Garden Hotels, is located in a small town Thrissur close to the Cochin International Airport. The Cochin International Airport (55 km to the South) and the Calicut International Airport (80 km to the North) are the nearest airports.
 
The significance of the meeting: The International Symposium on Reproductive Physiology of Fish is the 9th meeting scheduled to be in India. The first meeting was the result of a pioneer initiative by Dr. Roland billard in September 1977 at the Biological Research Station of Paimpont in Brittany. In about once in four years the meeting is held in different countries which gather many scientists working in the field of Reproduction of Fish. The last meeting was held at Saint Malo, France June 3-8, 2007 and it attracted the active participation and presentation of more than 350 scientists with their findings. The present 9ISRPF, Cochin, India meeting is scheduled to be held during the month of August 9-14, 2011. The organizers are expecting more than 500 participants across the globe and more particularly the symposium is giving the opportunity to meet scientists working in the field of Fish Physiology and Reproduction. The meeting will envisage further research to meet the global need towards food energy production.
 
 
The registration is mandatory for participation in the 9th ISRPF meeting. All contributors for oral and poster presentations are required to submit their abstracts before 10th February, 2011. The extension of the deadline for abstracts, if any, will be notified on the website.  Abstracts of the non-registered participants will not be entertained. 
 
Thrissur city has a number of hotels and restaurants providing decent accommodation to suit the requirements of varied interests. Local transport will be provided for all delegates staying in hotels in the city to attend the symposium. Frequent bus, taxi and auto services are available round the clock for local travels to reach different places in the city. The temperature will be 25o-28oC with occasional rains during the month of August.

We encourage you to spend some additional time in Cochin before or after the conference to visit the beautiful places in India.
